Heart Failure Clinical Trials

If you are living with heart failure, you may be eligible to participate in a heart failure clinical trial at Metropolitan Clinical Research (MCR).

Heart Failure Clinical Trial for Adults Living With Heart Failure

Heart failure occurs when the heart cannot pump blood as well as it should.
As a result, the body may not receive enough oxygen-rich blood.
Common symptoms include fatigue, shortness of breath, swelling, and persistent coughing.
Simple activities like walking or climbing stairs may become difficult.
Heart failure is one of the cardiovascular diseases that can affect daily life.
Chronic heart failure research studies evaluate potential new approaches for managing the condition. These clinical research studies of heart failure help researchers learn more about investigational treatment options.
Eligible participants will receive expert care and an opportunity to contribute to ongoing heart failure research.

Researching New Possibilities in Heart Failure Treatment

This clinical trial for heart failure in Beltsville, MD is open to adults living with chronic heart failure and a reduced left ventricular ejection fraction below 40%. Participants must have received a heart failure diagnosis at least three months before starting the study. The trial is studying an investigational combination treatment for people with chronic heart failure.

The study aims to learn more about potential new treatment options for adults living with heart failure and a weak pumping function of the left side of the heart.

Why Participate at Metropolitan Clinical Research?

At Metropolitan Clinical Research, we recognize the important role participants play in advancing research. Our research team provides guidance throughout the study, keeps participants well-informed, and prioritizes their safety and well-being at every stage.

If you’re considering enrolling in a clinical research study for heart failure, our team is available to answer your questions and help you understand what participation involves.

Why Is There a Need for This Study?

Heart failure affects over 60 million people worldwide and can occur when the heart becomes too weak or stiff to pump blood effectively. This can lead to fluid buildup, tiredness, and shortness of breath. Conditions such as high blood pressure and coronary artery disease can increase the risk of developing heart failure. Research into potential new treatment options remains important for people living with this condition.
By participating, you will receive study-related care and regular health monitoring throughout the study. Your participation may help researchers learn more about investigational treatments for people living with chronic heart failure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about our clinical research.

What is heart failure?

The heart muscle may become too weak or stiff to pump blood effectively. Heart failure does not mean the heart has stopped working. Instead, the body may not receive enough oxygen-rich blood, causing fluid to build up in the lungs and other parts of the body.

Adults aged 18 and older with chronic heart failure may be eligible. Participants must have a reduced left ventricular ejection fraction below 40% and have been diagnosed with chronic heart failure at least 3 months before starting the study.

The study is being conducted at Metropolitan Cardiovascular Research in Beltsville, MD.

If you qualify, the research team will provide study-related care and monitor your health throughout the study.
