Heart Failure Prevention Clinical Trial in Beltsville, MD

If you have type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and high blood pressure, you may be eligible to participate in a heart failure prevention clinical trial at Metropolitan Clinical Research (MCR).

How Diabetes and High Blood Pressure Affect Heart Health

High blood pressure and type 2 diabetes are common conditions that can affect heart and blood vessel health over time. High blood pressure can place continued strain on the heart, while high blood sugar levels may contribute to damage in the blood vessels. When these conditions occur alongside cardiovascular disease, the risk of further heart-related problems may increase. Managing these conditions and monitoring cardiovascular health are important for reducing potential complications and maintaining overall well-being.

A heart failure prevention clinical trial in Beltsville, MD, is studying potential new approaches that may help reduce this risk and support heart health.

Why Is There a Need for This Study?

People with type 2 diabetes may have a higher risk of developing heart failure and other cardiovascular problems, especially when high blood pressure or existing cardiovascular disease is also present. Over time, high blood sugar, insulin resistance, inflammation, and increased strain on the heart and blood vessels can contribute to this risk.

The heart failure prevention clinical trial is studying an investigational treatment approach that may help reduce the risk of heart failure and cardiovascular death in people with these risk factors.
