About the Heart Failure Prevention Study
Researchers are evaluating an investigational medication in combination with an approved medication to determine whether it may help reduce the risk of developing heart failure in adults at increased cardiovascular risk.
The study is designed for adults living with Type 2 Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, and Heart Disease who have not yet developed symptomatic heart failure.
By participating, you could help researchers advance future approaches to heart failure prevention.
Understanding Heart Failure
What Is Heart Failure?
Heart failure does not mean your heart has stopped working. It means the heart cannot pump blood as effectively as it should. Many people are at increased risk long before symptoms appear.
Conditions such as:
- Type 2 Diabetes
- High Blood Pressure
- Heart Disease
can significantly increase the likelihood of developing heart failure over time.Early research is focused on finding better ways to help reduce this risk before symptoms begin.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is this study being conducted?
Researchers are studying whether an investigational treatment, used alongside an approved medication, may help reduce the risk of heart failure in adults who are at increased cardiovascular risk.
Why am I at risk?
People with Type 2 Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, and Heart Disease have a greater chance of developing heart failure over time.
What is an investigational medication?
An investigational medication is a treatment that is being studied to determine its safety and effectiveness. It has not yet been approved for this specific use.
Will I continue taking my current medications?
The study team will review your current medications and explain how the study treatment fits into your care before you decide whether to participate.
